Run a check before epiqar goes live in the OR. One combined report, including the sustained test, is emailed to the engineering team when it's done.

Reading these numbers. These results represent throughput and path quality measured to the actual epiqar system location. A conventional speed test using a nearby local server will typically report higher upload and download figures. Those measure your link to that server, not to where your surgical stream is delivered.

epiqar Wireless Camera — Local Network Advisory
The above test measures internet-facing network performance. If you are using a
Logitech Mevo wireless camera, its connectivity depends on
local WiFi behaviour that cannot be tested from the browser. Two hospital network policies
commonly block Mevo discovery even when all other epiqar checks pass.
?
AP / Client Isolation
Blocks device-to-device traffic on the same WiFi SSID. The Mevo camera and the epiqar laptop must be able to reach each other directly.
?
mDNS / Multicast (UDP 5353)
The Mevo app uses mDNS to discover the camera on the network. If multicast is filtered, the laptop cannot locate the camera even if it is powered on and connected.
If the Mevo is not discovered on this network
Switch to Plan B — enable the Windows Mobile Hotspot on the epiqar laptop (network name epiqar-webcam, password Epiqar123). Connect both the phone and the Mevo camera to that hotspot. The hotspot is a local network controlled by the laptop — hospital WiFi policies do not apply.
Sustained Network Test (UDP vs TCP, 3 min)
The quick test above checks whether UDP can connect, a short
burst that often passes even on networks with traffic-shaping or deep packet inspection (DPI) policies
that only engage after sustained, high-volume flows (exactly what a live OR video feed looks like).
This test holds a continuous UDP stream open for several minutes, alongside a parallel TCP stream for
comparison, and watches both for a step-down partway through; the signature of a sustained-flow policy
rather than a one-time test artifact or a generic bandwidth ceiling.
